Finally, we're leaving Bodrum for our summer of sailing. And finally the cruising notes from last summer in Greece are available!

We are spending this winter in Bodrum, Turkey. We can highly recommend the marina, very safe and friendly, good winter prices too.
Our cruising notes from last summer will be published here soon.

We had a wonderful winter in Chioggia, can really recommend it! We sailed from there April 29, going straight to Otranto in the south of Italy. The journey took nearly three days and covered 443 nm. There we had a good time revisiting friends who bought a house in Puglia. Last week we continued to Greece, sailing straight to Preveza where we hauled out at Cleopatra Marina. No recommendation!
We have a new phone number, see Contact.

Finally we have completed the cruising notes for summer 2004. We are spending winter in Chioggia, which is just the nicest little town. It's a lively fishing port with an excellent fish market. People here are great! Only in the first week here we made more local friends than during an entire winter in Ostia.
The town is in the south part of the Venice lagoon, in the very north of Italy. It's a good location for visiting all the beautiful old cities in the region, like Treviso, Padova, Bologna and of course Venice. We have our share of pretty canals and active boat traffic in Chioggia but this time of year there are no tourists and the cost of living is reasonable.
With only three liveaboard cruising boats in the boat club, we are getting close to the locals and enjoy the relaxed everyday live here. In the evenings, all Chioggians stroll up and down main street, chatting and stopping for a drink in one of the numerous bars before going home for dinner.
Merry Christmas to all our fellow cruisers and other readers!
